TFL Podcast: Episode 1 – Fear of Teens
By Joshua Cornelius
In our very first episode, Josh and Alex discuss the movies they’ve been watching for #OccultOctober, which films truly terrified them as children, and play a horror-themed round of movie trivia. Alex professes her love of Rian Johnson, Josh is terrified of asshole children, and they both get excessively meta while discussing early to mid-90s horror narratives and the political realities they reflect.

Corrections:
Ti West’s other film was 2009′s The House of the Devil. The book Alex couldn’t quite remember is Nightmare on Main Street: Angels, Sadomasochism, and the Culture of Gothic by Mark Edmundson. Alex would like to add that she doesn’t actually like Edmundson as a scholar, but the book is kind of interesting regardless. Sandra Dee was 28 in 1970. The People Under the Stairs was released in 1991. Burkitsville is the name of the town in Blair Witch 2; however, the OG Blair Witch was filmed 25 miles away in a state park. Tragic Ceremony was a Spanish and Italian production. The Nightmare on Elm Street scene with a girl turning into a cockroach actually happens in film number 4, The Dream Master. Phillip Badger wrote and directed The Forgotten One. Elisha Cook Jr. was in, among other things, The Maltese Falcon and The Big Sleep.
