Summer Hiatus

13 May 2012 No Comment

I wanted to post a little update on the status of the site, as you may have noticed a lack of new content here at TFL.  Alexandra and I (the primary editors and contributors for TFL), are each relocating twice over the course of this summer.  Towards the end of those hot August days we’ll be making the move to the American South.  Just outside of Atlanta, Georgia specifically.  It’s something we have been heavily anticipating for months, and we’re really looking forward to relocating to such a distinct and culturally rich state as Georgia.

An unfortunate side effect of the move is that we will both be without dedicated working spaces for the majority of the summer, which will of course make writing for TFL difficult.  Instead of spending hours at coffee shops and libraries in the evening, we’ve decided to suspend major work on the site for at least the summer months of 2012.

After that time, and once we’ve repurchased a host of furniture and set up a dedicated working space, we hope to relaunch the site under a new working model.  One consistent struggle we’ve seen while building the site is that certain films would seem to bear a ton of content, ripe for discussion.  While attempting to work that content into a formula to sustain a months worth of writing, we’ve discovered that the content can often be redundant, or flat-out uninteresting.

We’re working on a new format and maybe even a new look, but for now the site will stay as it is – frozen like Steve Rogers in an arctic wasteland, just waiting to be thawed out.  Thanks for all the reading you’ve done so far.  Stay tuned!
